Support: Fragmentary foot of a cup of Attic black-glazed ware (d: 0.004; diameter ca. 0.08).

Layout: Scratched twice under foot, both to be read from the centre.

Letters: textpart A 0.015; textpart B 0.08

Date: First half of the fifth century BC (monument type).

Findspot: Found before 1987 at Cyrene: probably Sanctuary of Apollo.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Seen by J.-J. Maffre in 1987 in Shahat: Cyrene Museum.

Commentary

B has either the genitive or dative case of the god's name. The epsilon of fragment A, very different in lettering, might hardly be the end of a dedication verb and there is no room for a dedicant's name. Its meaning is unclear.
