Source description
Support: White marble base, with mouldings on top and below chipped out; the front face is scratched; two holes for attachment of a statue on top (w: 0.925 × h: 0.42 × d: 0.535).
Layout: Inscribed on front face (w: 0.87 × h: 0.33) near the upper edge.
Letters: 0.025; slanting sigma, disymetrical nu.
Date: Second half of fourth century BC
Findspot: Found in 1861 at Cyrene ➚: Sanctuary of Apollo, near the North wall of the Temple of Artemis.
Place of origin: Findspot.
Last recorded location: Seen by Pugliese Carratelli in 1960 'in the Sanctuary of Apollo'. Seen by C. Dobias-Lalou in 2001 at findspot, in the Sanctuary of Apollo.

Commentary
The base was associated with a statue which featured the man mentioned on its front face. To have it erected in Apollo's sanctuary was a honour.
