Source description

Support: Upper left angle of a rectangular base of smooth limestone, broken at right and below, with a rectangular hole on top (w: 0.25 × h: 0.16 × d: 0.15).

Layout: Inscribed on the face, beginning near the upper edge.

Letters: 0.028; slanting sigma, nearly symmetrical nu.

Date: Perhaps fourth century BC (lettering).

Findspot: Found in 1925 by G. Oliverio at Cyrene: exact findspot unrecorded.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Seems to be lost since 1960 at the latest.

Known only from a photograph in Oliverio's archive; findspot and date of discovery based upon the number of his sketchbook. Pugliese Carratelli already in 1960 was not able to trace the stone.
