Commentary

Although both circular letters are uncomplete, the phonetic context helps to interpret the first one as an omega and the second one, at the end of the line should also be an omega for a genitive ending. We get thus a personal name in -γνωτος. Two such compounds are known at Cyrene: Καλλίγνωτος and Πολύγνωτος, the latter, being the father's name of a probable priest of Ammon in the third century BC (IGCyr1093002, I.31). But it would be hazardous to suggest a link with one of them.
