Source description

Support: A stele of white marble with a triple plain moulding on top (dimensions unknown).

Layout: Inscribed on the face in two lines with axial display.

Letters: Height unknown; careful and regular letters, slanting sigma, chalice shaped upsilon.

Date: Probably third century BC (lettering).

Findspot: Found in 2012 by the Missione archeologica Università di Chieti in Cyrene: West Necropolis, in a tomb not registered by Cassels.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Cyrene Museum Not seen by the IGCyr team.

Commentary

Aristis is a very common name in Cyrenaica. The father's name is up to now not attested in the region, although its two components are common here.
