Commentary

Both names are common in Cyrenaica. At IGCyr0091002 a.21, the same onomastic formula would be a plausible guess in spite of the lost initial letters. However, the latter is dated from the second half of the fourth century and cannot be surely related to the present one. Conversely, the same combination occurs at IRCyr2020 C.645, dated in the first century BC, which is nearer to the suggested date of the present inscription. In fact, both documents might be contemporary and mention the same person: the distribution between both collections is in some cases rather arbitrary.

The type of support of this inscription may either correspond to a honorific monument or perhaps be the closer of a loculus in a tomb.
