Source description

Support: Fragmentary skyphos, Attic black figure ware, late type (diameter 0.063).

Layout: Scratched on lower part of wall.

Letters: 0.0045-0.006; alpha with bar joining a short right stroke, nu nearly symmetrical, rho with a short oblique stroke under loop.

Date: Between 475 and 450 BC (monument type).

Findspot: Found between 1963 and 1965 at Taucheira: archaic votive deposit.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Seen by J. Boardman in 1965 at Tūkrah. Not seen by IGCyr team.

English translation

(scil. So-and-So dedicated) this (scil. cup) to Kore.

Italian translation

(scil. Il tale ha dedicato) questa (scil. coppa) a Kore.

Commentary

Rho has a tailed form, very rare in Cyrenaica (see also IGCyr1105002). However, being offered to Kore, the cup was probably inscribed locally.
