Support: Limestone stele closing a niche in a rock-cut tomb (w: 0.54 × h: 0.84 × d: 0.22).

Layout: Inscribed 0.175 from top.

Letters: 0.07-0.11.

Date: Fourth to third centuries BC (lettering).

Findspot: Found in 1911, Norton expedition, at Cyrene: North Necropolis, Cassel's tomb N22 ('tomb 8' of the Norton expedition).

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Not found.

Commentary

The ending -εν for active infinitive is a regular feature in the local dialect.

This formula aims at protecting the recess in this chamber-tomb, which can be identified after Santucci – Uhlenbrock 2013 from the long delated publication of Norton's final report.
