Commentary

A. Laronde (Laronde 1987, pp. 52-58 and 182) discussed family ties of Mnasarchos (l. 7) and dated the dedication.

We now have probably the father of Hermesandros in IGCyr1216002.

Oliverio, in editio princeps, only said that the panel had been found 'in the excavations to the west of the Fountain Terrace'. In his report of the excavations of year 1933 (see Luni 2014, p. 139), he more precisely suggested that it might be related to the ruins of a small offering or temple which were perceivable at the far end of that terrace and which he intended to investigate later on. Stucchi, relying on those informations (then still unpublished) pushed that interesting theory ahead, supposing that the building was a Doric Traesury erected symmetrically with the Strategeion. Unfortunately no further excavation took place there, which might bring further confirmation (see Laronde 1987, p. 182).
