Commentary

Fraser's restorations are based on two facts: the length of the lines, inferred from the place of the only letter surviving of l. 5, and the preserved epithet Philopator.

However, at l. 4 our restoration is based on the fact that only one son, the future Ptolemy V Epiphanes, is known for the royal couple.

For the possible title Λιβυάρχας, see Laronde 1987, p. 417, now supported by Cigaina – Vitale 2017, pp. 93-96. See at IGCyr063300².

It is a mere possibility that the father Boiskos was related to Kallikrates son of Boiskos, a nauarch of Ptolemy Philadelphus (so Fraser 1958, p. 112, n. 5 and Laronde 1987, p. 417).
