Commentary

This is an acclamation of a type more often preserved on vases than on monuments. However, the lettering leaves no doubt that it is a graffito and no official mention.

The name Ἁγήτωρ is attested for a military officer about 335 BC (IGCyr0840002), who might be a grand-son or another related person.

Rosamilia 2023 was right in suggesting that the date is plausibly more ancient than the 'end of the fifth or very first years of the fourth century BC' proposed by Inglese 2013.
