Source description

Support: White marble slightly tapering stele, with plain double moulding on top on all four sides, broken off at lower left angle (alltogether w: 0.365 × h: 1.08 × d: 0.315; under moulding w: 0.325 × h: 1.02 × d: 0.27; below width 0.365).

Layout: Inscribed on the face at 0.16 under the moulding.

Letters: 0.027, no serifs; slantering sigma, slightly smaller circular letters.

Date: Probably second half of fourth or first half of third century BC (lettering).

Findspot: Found before 1979 at Cyrene: from an undetermined Necropolis.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Observed by C. Dobias-Lalou in 1979 in Shahat, inside the archaeological enclosure, north of the Caesareum.
