Commentary

Although the fragment is very small, a date may be proposed because the lettering is quite similar to IGCyr062810². Line 1 keeps a name without the ending that might help to know at which case it was. At line 2, the compound name in -δαμος was probably followed by his father's name beginning with iota. This leaves many possiblities open, such as Ἰάσων, a name including ἵππος or even a Libyan name such as Ιγισαν or Ιαλ. One such pair occurs at IGCyr033100², but its date is very different and we should leave the question open.

The inventory number corresponds to the reorganisation of the storeroom for inscriptions in the ancient museum, care of Goodchild after World War II. It was thus probably a find of the Italian period.
