Source description

Support: Fragment of small Corinthian ware kotyle with banded decoration (estimated diameter 0.063).

Layout: Scratched on outside (width 0.06).

Letters: 0.0045 to 0.009; straight iota, rho with nearly no tail.

Date: Ca. 500 BC (context).

Findspot: Found between 1964 and 1965 at Taucheira: archaic votive deposit.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Commentary

Dobias-Lalou 1970 was sceptical about the attribution of the graffito to Cyrenaica, but later finds, probably known at the time by the editors and later published in Boardman – Hayes 1973 (whence IGCyr0038002 and IGCyr0039002) now lead to accept it as inscribed on the spot.
