Source description

Support: White marble plinth of a statue re-used in the Hellenistic period after inversion for an over-size statue of Apollo Pythios; above the plinth on the former front face, two tall sandals, one with the toes visible, emerging from a drapery, survive from the former elaboration (w: 0.66 × h: 0.095).

Layout: Inscribed in two lines on the former front face.

Letters: 0.028; large circular letters, dotted theta, slanting sigma.

Date: Between the end of fourth and the beginning of third century BC (lettering).

Findspot: Found before 1926 at Cyrene: : Trajanic Baths, standing in the apodyterium-frigidarium.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Cyrene Museum, 15. Observed by Dobias-Lalou in 1982, 1997, 2004 in Shahat: Cyrene Museum.
