Findspot: Found before 1935 at Cyrene ➚: Sanctuary of Apollo, in front of Fountain of Apollo.

Commentary

This inscription was published by Pugliese Carratelli from a photograph in the Antiquities Archives, which mentioned the findspot as given above. He was not able to trace the stone.

In the vacat under line 3, some letters were scratched later on, especially an omicron (or a meaningless circle?) which is much visible on the photograph.

For another occurrence of a son of Chainys, see at IGCyr099100², which however does not allow a secure restoration here.
