Source description

Support: Two adjacent fragments of a skyphos black-glazed ware (foot and part of bottom) (diameter of foot 0.05).

Layout: Scratched under the foot, to be read from the center.

Letters: 0.005, well aligned and regular letters.

Date: Perhaps third century BC (lettering, context).

Findspot: Found by J.-S. Caillou (French mission), one fragment in 2004, the other in 2005, in the Port of Cyrene, later Apollonia: at bottom of the so-called Kallikrateia Rock, to the North (see commentary).

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Apollonia Museum, Storeroom of the French Mission, 2005.38. Seen by C. Dobias-Lalou in 2010 at Sūsah, Apollonia Museum, Storeroom of the French Mission.

This vase was found in the fill below the altar bearing IGCyr1140002. It is thus in clear relation with it.

The name should be that of the dedicant.
