Source description

Support: Very small fragment of a Laconian ware kantharos (w: 0.0128).

Layout: Scratched.

Letters: 0.009; narrow letters, alpha with obliqhe bar, kappa with very short oblique strokes.

Date: Perhaps fifth century BC

Findspot: Found between 1963 and 1965 at Taucheira, chance find near archaic votive deposit.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Seen by J. Boardman in 1965 at Tūkrah. Not seen by IGCyr team.

Commentary

The very scanty information about this small fragment does not allow to restore its meaning. The editor's transcription seems to take the two letters as the end of a word. No similar ending helps to guess which word. Conversely, we might have here the central syllable of the word for 'tithe' (see IGCyr0042002).
