Source description

Support: White marble base with plain mouldings at top and bottom on three sides, both mouldings chipped off, the lower one more severely; a dowel hole in the centre of the upper side (w: 0.51 × h: 0.20 × d: 0.45).

Layout: Inscribed in one line on the face (w: 0.45 × h: 0.075 × d: 0.41), the letters being smaller and more crowded at the end of the line.

Letters: 0.03; slantering mu and sigma, rather small omicron and omega,rather small loop of rho.

Date: Perhaps, second half of fourth or first half of third century BC (lettering).

Findspot: Found before 1995 at Cyrene: North Necropolis, beside the Road: Cyrene to Apollonia.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Cyrene Museum, 3474. Seen by C. Dobias-Lalou in 1997 in Shahat: Cyrene Museum.
