Commentary

As already noticed for the first edition in IGCyr, this inscription, by lettering and matter, recalls IGCyr0208002 and IGCyr0209002, two dedications made 'thanks to the revenues of puppies and birds'. Thanks to Rosamilia 2023, another such inscription is IGCyr1275002, which also mentions Apollo as recipient and is nearer in date with this one. The use of koine (at least at line 1) instead of the dialect should be noticed.

In spite of Rosamilia's objections, we keep here the usual dating formula with the genitive of the participle, preceded by the priest's name, of which only the end of the father's name is preserved. The restoration is rather long, but in fact longer than that of line 4 only by one character.

L. 2, as puppies were not offered to Apollo, we must infer that we have the same formulation as in the above-mentioned inscriptions, explaining the origin of the money spent for the offering, the word being at the genitive case, with or without ἀπό.

L. 3, we follow now Rosamilia's retoration of an object dedicated, which might plausibly be, as he supposes, a phiale.

At l. 4 Rosamilia's suggested number 100 offers a well balanced restoration. The silver of Alexander is also mentioned for the weight of objects dedicated at IGCyr0951502 and IGCyr1275002 and as a monetary value at IGCyr0108002, l. 8. For the adoption of Alexander's silver drachma, see Laronde 1987, p. 240. About Alexander's silver, see Knoepfler 1997.
