Source description

Support: White marble stele, reddish from earth, slightly tapering, with a small plain moulding above on the rear edge of the upper face (w: 0.40 × h: 1.02 × d: 0.29); the front face is slightly chipped.

Layout: Inscribed on front face (w: 0.37 to 0.42 × h: 0.96 × d: 0.235 to 0.26) at 0.14 under the upper edge.

Letters: 0.032; slantering sigma.

Date: Late fourth or early third century BC (lettering).

Findspot: Found before 1995 at Cyrene: probably from South Necropolis.

Place of origin: Findspot.

Last recorded location: Seen by C. Dobias-Lalou in 2001 at Cyrene: inside archaeological enclosure North of Caesareum.
